Out of left field… #2

As a coach, I have had to explain to many players that they shouldn’t hit the back wall. This is true, not just for the good of the player, but for the good of the wall… Never met the gentleman below, maybe this could have been avoided…?

Long Term Player Development

Briefly explained, Long Term Player Development or LTPD speaks to the intelligent programming of a player’s training based upon their age and stage of development – simply put, 10 year olds shouldn’t do the same training that 16 year olds do.

The Five Trainables

The various physical and mental competencies required to be developed in order for a squash player to achieve their potential in the sport.

We use the acronym S.M.A.R.T.
S – Strategy
M – Mental Skills
A – Athleticism
R – Real World Skills
T – Technical Literacy

Annual Periodization

Annual Periodization refers to paying appropriate attention to the time of year and the competitive or training priorities. We prioritize aspects of the Five Trainables at different times of year to maximize performance. Summer – we don’t train the same in summer as the week before Nationals.
